THE SOIL

Filthy By Nature — Base Soil

This soil is built the way soil is supposed to be built. No synthetic fertilizer. No fillers. No gimmicks. It’s a balanced, mineral-forward soil designed for containers, raised beds, and long-term reuse.

What’s in it:

Cascade compost
Finished, stable compost for organic matter and biology.

Worm castings
Adds microbial life and gentle nitrogen for early growth.

Volcanic pumice
Keeps the soil open, drains excess water, and prevents compaction.

Basalt fines
Natural mineral source for calcium, magnesium, iron, and trace elements.

That’s it. No hidden additives.

What it’s for:

Vegetables

Flowers

Trees and shrubs

Raised beds

Containers

Greenhouses

Works straight out of the bag or blended with native soil.

What it’s not:

Not a fertilizer

Not a potting mix full of peat

Not a “hot” soil that burns plants

Not designed to be replaced every season

This soil is meant to be used, amended, and reused.

Why it works:

Plants don’t need tricks.
They need structure, biology, and minerals.

This mix gives roots air, holds moisture without staying wet, and feeds plants through natural breakdown instead of chemical spikes.

Simple Use Instructions

Use straight for containers and raised beds

For native soil, blend 30–50% by volume

Water normally — drains fast but holds moisture

Re-amend with compost or castings between seasons if needed
